If there’s nothing better to watch, this donghua is fine for killing boredom. It’s not brilliant, but it’s good enough to follow weekly without feeling like a waste of time.

I really liked this donghua in the early episodes, especially the first few, it had really striking visuals with modern shaders and realistic reflections all over the place. But as the time goes by the pacing and narrative are sometimes hard to follow with so many things happening at once. Many of the characters motivations are shallow and interactions are brief.
The action is quite fine, though sometimes over the top. The issue I have is with the skills, to be precise with the hit and kill feedback effects and the feeling of it. Through the 140 episodes the vague light waves that hit enemies in even more unreadable ways, the petty light spheres and the goddamn scattering particles when someone dies, it’s all becoming quite boring.
Almost like this is a cartoon for children, rather than an epic cultivation donghua that was supposed to be on par with Mortal’s Journey to Immortality.
