That Han Zhiyang dude’s intro was freaking cool. Even his character design leans towards MC material, from his weapon to his attire and posture, if not for his shitty personality. That butterfly chick intro was also pretty flashy, but those huge sunglasses are ridiculous. Am I wrong or is every cultivator in this modern world fall victim to weak fashion choices? MC, that Han Zhiyang dude and the little villain guy in a cool ass bomber jacket are okay, though I would throw away that edgy mask.
Using stinky tofu boiling oil was a chad move, but why the f did he rush to strike demons claw with his sword? Dude is only cultivator for a couple of hours and already fights stupidly like one. He fought cautiously without the pendant, using his wits to suppress the beast with high voltage, but the second he retrieved the thing he immediately defaulted to a stupid mediocre third rate NPC cultivator, just bashing it with spiritual power, when the old man clearly said that demon’s strength is beyond him.
Also, what was all that blabbering about saving at least one person in front of him? Was he blind when people were literally squashed and eaten all around him just now? Like any other ordinary human dude out there he could save a couple of random people at the very least, helping them flee in the smallest of effort. He was running for his life then just like he did in the past. And now, the second he was given two biggest opportunities in cultivation world (that something emperor’s legacy and All Things Flourish thing), he suddenly is able to risk his life trying to save some random people, recklessly risking these opportunities without even trying to find a way to succeed both in saving those two and surviving. That’s the definition of a person who cannot be trusted with such powers. And after all those warnings from the old man that all meridians in his body are undoubtedly gonna be ruptured and he’d die he ended up… completely fine. And completely without explanation just like in the first episode. That is one of the thickest plot armors I’ve seen so far.
If you let AI do half the animation job in your show, you could at least keep teenagers away from the writing one…
teenagers work… no hope for an interesting story or something deep.
