ngl, for a first episode, its kinda absurd start lol, i just dont mind, i like it
I agree, this is absurd for opening, but it isn’t bad. We do not often see wuxia in modern setting done right. Also, every song is a banger, the visual fidelity is quite good, but the amount of AI is shameless. I thought it’s gonna be all AI at the start, but they did integrate it with traditional animation almost seamlessly. You can still see it though.
Overall, an arrogant MC and strong opening with banger music, this felt a little bit like opening of notorious DMC (2013). I like it all in all, the only thing I find questionable is the speed with which MC is gaining martial prowess. I get it, he did gain an abundant boost of spiritual power from an old man, but isn’t cultivation about comprehending most of all?
Isn’t the absurd amounts of time spent by immortal cultivators to comprehend techniques and martial arts is how martial prowess is acquired? You can have a big pool of spiritual power, but you also need to know how to apply it through techniques and arts, so how the f that newbie performed so well? He shouldn’t have known any of the skills he’d shown, especially that last one. When things like this are left without explanation it’s a sign of bad writing.
