lol … anyway … for anyone with a longer attention span than that of a goldfish, it’s nice to have the backstory covered along with the character foundations instead of being spammed with flashbacks while watching something progressive

Hope that the cultivation journey from here on in takes a new turn focusing on the elemental attributes
there’s a lot of non-sequential combination techniques they can work with & make this stand out from the usual (almost always lightning / fire)
It’s a strong plot, with actual development (the only bit being the ML/FL didn’t have enough time together to be at the emotional level they’re at already but considering most Donghua, it was at least foundational so not bad) This ‘taint’ guys literally an anime elitist of some kind.
Definitely concur this show is both aesthetically pleasing, animations are great, and it actually has a slower more complex backstory – with the backstory still being relevant as the show progresses (where as most donghua it’s just there or a gimmick and has nothing to do with the show most of the time as it continues on). Hope the rest of it continues on with more nuance as well

well said… it really isn’t that hard to see, and you’re right about the ML&FL screen time; they did a number on us with that dialogue in act 3 while she was asking him if he would believe her … because even we the viewers had doubts.
The gimmicky stuff is so forgettable at this point & unless the show is literally about that, it’s a tough sell. Idk what bro’s on; I literally talked about taoism (Wu Xing) & he immediately had a naruto flashback only to emphasize the point he missed… smh
